Beach cleaning - Eric McDonald

Local organised beach cleans –

  • Friends of Poldhu - First Friday of every month – runs from 7pm-8pm from April to September and then from 10am-11am from October to March.
  • Friends of Kennack first Sunday of the month-runs from 10am-11am (October – March only)

Beach cleaning is an activity you can do either in your own time or as part of an organised group, such as Friends of Poldhu, or on an organised event like Clean Cornwall Week. Beach cleaning is a rewarding way to get out and about and spend time on many of our beautiful beaches while helping keep them safe and tidy for everybody to enjoy.

As well as improving the beach for ourselves, beach cleaning also helps protect wildlife both on land and at sea. You might not be able to clean the whole beach, nor might you be able to clean the beach more than once a month, but it doesn't matter - every little counts. If you would prefer to go beach cleaning on your own, please check the weather and tide times before you go out and let someone know what you are planning to do and when you will be back. If you are beach cleaning please do get in touch, as we might be able to provide you with equipment if you officially enrol as a volunteer.
